Qualified as a Fully Accredited Court
Reporter with the Association of Professional Shorthand Writers (APSW) in
1992 after working in Liverpool Crown Court since 1989 and later
transferred to the British Institute Of Verbatim Reporters (BIVR) after
dissolution of the APSW in 2000.
In June 1994 passed the 210 words per minute examination.
Passed Deaf Awareness examination with the Council for the Advancement
of Communication with Deaf People (CACDP) in June 1995.
Became a CACDP accredited Speech To Text Reporter (STTR) in August 1998
after passing two endorsements with deafened examiners.
Passed the CACDP British Sign Language Level 1 examination in February
1999.
Passed GCSE Information Technology with a B Grade in June 2000.
Passed Computer Literacy And Information Technology (CLAIT) in June
2000.
Became a CACDP accredited Qualified Real-time Reporter (QRR) in
September 2001 after passing a supervised Real-time examination.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
I regularly work with various deafness organisations such as Royal
National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), Council for the Advancement of
Communication with Deaf People (CACDP), British Deaf Association (BDA),
National Association of Deafened People (NADP), Deafness Support Network
and Typetalk amongst others.
I regularly work for other organisations such as Disability Rights
Commission (DRC), Housing Corporation, Estyn and Higher Education Funding
Council for Wales (HEFCW), the National Assembly for Wales (NafW).
Many large conferences for both disability and commercial organisations.
Many years Court Reporting experience in Civil and Criminal Courts.
